Maximizing your Finance through Additional Sources of Income

Monday Goals

There is wealth in your house!

And Elisha said unto her, What shall I do for thee? tell me, what hast thou in the house? And she said, Thine handmaid hath not any thing in the house, save a pot of oil

2 Kings 4:2

In this passage of scripture, this widow was at the verge of losing her two sons to her late husband’s creditors because of the debts he owed. Probably it may have been the debts that led to the husband’s death. The interesting thing was that what became a source of wealth had been in his house all the while.

In this story, we see a man who was a son of the prophet that most likely may have despised what God had to say about his finances and so was left struggling in debt. Thank God for wives like this who know well to run to God when in need: some may have resorted to despicable things.

The main point to be highlighted here is that there may be things wasting in your house, or things that you even despise that can be additional income sources. You may require the eagle eye of the Holy Spirit to highlight it for you to begin to take them for what it is and start gathering them.

But thou shalt remember the Lord thy God: for it is he that giveth thee power to get wealth, that he may establish his covenant which he sware unto thy fathers, as it is this day.

Deuteronomy 8:18

As children of God, we are not just people of ideas going around, permutating things not knowing which will work. That is the labour and lot of people who do not know God. As God’s child, you have access to specific instructions and details of what is in your hands to make profit off.

Remember, God is interested in your financial life and wants you to prosper (3 John 1:2). Through the Bible, we constantly see God give His people visions of the great plans He has for them. But there is no vision or idea that doesn’t become W-O-R-K somewhere along the line.

The reason most times things of the spirit do not materialize is mainly because we are not working as efficiently as we should. That idea has been implanted by God in your heart but some lack the willpower to step into the unknown waters, while some are in the hold of procrastination.

The truth is God will always come ahead of the devil to save you from the rainy day through instructions that come to  you directly from your personal fellowship time or from your anointed links. Some do not respect these links, while some have not developed that personal walk with God intimately.

Just as you do not divulge secrets of your life to just anyone but your most trusted friend, God will not let you in on secret if you do not come into close communion with Him.

However, with that being said, God always still comes to us at our level to help us such that at every point in time, you’ve got something. If you look deep enough, if you pray enough, God will open your eyes to what you’ve got in your house. Wealth is in your hand.

From Exodus 3, we see that when God sends a man, He gives him tools. For Moses; it was his staff. For some, it’s their legs (footballers). For some, it’s their pen(artists, writers) etc. It’s something that’s already part of you; something you find very easy to do.

Wealth is around you!
What are the needs around? What are the failures around? What offers are available? What do you have inside you?

• God’s ideas
• Insight
• What passion is inside you?
• What talent is inside you?

These are all ways of identifying that ‘pot of oil’ that can be multiplied into great wealth. However, a major problem many have is that they do not respect little things. There is power in saving in trickles.

That small idea that you think can only bring small money, if its frequency is regular, can become a viable income source. but many would have finished off the profit due several bad habits.

So my tips for you are:

  • Begin to cultivate habits and an attitude that would sustain life in its small forms. The young always grows.
7 Though thy beginning was small, yet thy latter end should greatly increase.
Job 8:7
10 For who hath despised the day of small things? for they shall rejoice, and shall see the plummet in the hand of Zerubbabel with those seven; they are the eyes of the Lord, which run to and fro through the whole earth.
Zech 4:10
  • Respect your anointed links
  • Get working and make self development plans to grow your skill
  • Cultivate a saving habits of saving money in trickles and spending in bulk
  • Stretch yourself to make time for this new income source
  • If you consider money, you will always miss God

I will end with this point. You must understand the power of the seed when walking with God. Most times, your instructions coming in a seed form will require a level of faith and courage to begin. If you have formed a habit of always considering- “Do I have money for this?” you will find that you would have missed God by a mile. Whenever God sends, He also funds. Begin building your faith to help you start taking your mountains.

Nothing shall be impossible to him that believes!
