Service to God through servicing His chosen men or His people is beyond a physical act. It is a process that grooms your spirit to maturity especially when a solid personal fellowship with God is being observed.
For example, you may be joined to a church family at the time when the congregation is still growing and there is a call for children church workers or people to clean the church. If you have a leading in your spirit to be a part of it: do not run from it. This may mean you will have to be in church asides service times especially with your busy schedule. Make sure you do it wholeheartedly and excellently without eye service.
While some have embraced divine assignments like Elisha (1 Kings 19:19-21), many like the other sons of the prophet have excused themselves from assignments in God’s house but failed to realize that,
A leader in the Kingdom will always be a leader in the world

The other sons of the prophet were aiming for titles, but it was only Elisha that was receiving tutelage and mantles from serving his master Elijah wholeheartedly without eye service. This qualified him to receive twice the portion of the anointing Elijah carried (2 Kings 2-3:11).
God is in search of hearts that truly love and honour Him. So in serving God, it is important that you do not find yourself working ‘for’ God, but working ‘with’ which stems from a strong fellowship with Him.
Your service to God from a strong fellowship becomes a sweet sacrifice to God that releases an oil of ease on your secular work.

Remember Daniel, a foreign-born Law maker in Babylon who served during three regimes. Do you remember his secret? He prayed three times daily and you see how he lived a life of consecration and service to God in Daniel 6 that stood him out and eventually led him to prominence in Babylon (Checkout: the Daniels’ Company)
Lastly, I would like to add that service to God does not automatically mean freedom from life’s woes. You have to ensure that you keep the hearing of faith strong and active.
If you serve in a role that keeps you engaged during the service, ensure you find time during the week to listen to the message tapes as this is what builds your faith against the devil’s attacks.
